A Stress Test for the Viable System Model — A Cumulative Research Programme

The Viable System Model has been used for five decades, but its applications rarely say in advance what observation would count against a diagnosis or could make the model give something up. This paper argues that the problem is not a lack of criticism but the absence of organised exposure to correction — adverse results are absorbed rather than recorded as losses. It proposes a five-field receipt protocol, a public evidence register run as a Registered Reports track, and five demonstrations of how the programme can begin at low cost.

The article does not stay inside management cybernetics.
